In 2018, we live in a world that industrialist Henry Ford dreamed of when he sold the Ford Model A exactly 115 years ago, and the revolution is only beginning. Bloomberg New Energy Finance found that 559 million EVs will be on the road by 2040, while IHS Markit predicts that more than 33 million autonomous vehicles (AVs) – which will be electric – will be sold globally in 2040. The electric, shared and autonomous future is upon us. To honor Ford’s vision, Version 2.0’s mobility PR experts have released an infographic in celebration of the original Ford Model A.
The infographic, which can be downloaded at the link below, provides a summary of where the transportation industry stands today, where the market is headed and the accompanying factors that will bring this vision to life. It highlights the visionary brands leading the technological development necessary to make these futuristic transportation concepts a reality, such as electric vehicle wireless charging company WiTricity and autonomous vehicle mapping company Mapper. McKinsey’s Patrick Schaufuss and Bloomberg’s Colin McKerracher make an appearance as two of the principal influencers advocating for the transportation industry. We also highlight key academics that are supporting the young minds inventing these necessary technologies.
