PR Yearbook: 2017 in Review

We’re not sure about you, but the team at Version 2.0 welcomed the start of 2018 with open arms. We’re excited to be back at the office, refreshed and with our personal and professional resolutions locked and loaded.

In addition to resolution-creating, it’s always fun to look back at the highlights (and lowlights) of the previous 12 months at the start of a new year. And while there’s no such thing as a “typical” year in the world of PR, 2017 proved to be particularly…unique.

 

As an agency, Version 2.0 had a banner 2017 (stay tuned for more details on our momentum). To commemorate last year’s craziness, we took a closer look at some of the biggest news events and the newsmakers behind them: the Silence Breakers were named TIME’s Person of the Year in the wake of the sexual assault and harassment reckoning; Amazon bought Whole Foods for a whopping $13.7 billion; and the U.S. gained a royal when Prince Harry announced his engagement to American actress Meghan Markle.

In the spirit of a high school yearbook, Version 2.0’s 2017 PR Yearbook outlines the elements we will remember most from last year…and some, like our awkward high school photos, we would rather forget. Here’s a sneak peek:
