The Marketing & Business Development Manager at V2 Communications is responsible for working with firm leadership to manage the overall brand and support the firm’s growth and achievement of its business objectives. The manager will be responsible for ensuring consistent, compelling representation of the agency to both current and prospective clients—as well as prospective/current employees—to promote and build trust in V2’s practice areas, current/future services and team of professionals. Reporting directly to the CEO and MD and working closely with practice and service line leads, the marketing & biz dev. manager will own the functions end-to-end, both developing strategies, augmenting existing and creating new channels, and owning the successful execution and implementation of them. This includes but is not limited to:
Marketing: Build and maintain agency reputation
– Create and manage marketing communications campaign plan for brand awareness and demand creation/nurture
– Create regular cadence for touchpoints with database via email
– Keeping the mission, vision, messaging and positioning, as well as visual identification (logo, fonts, look/feel), current and consistent across all platforms and materials
– Additional reputation building activities, including:
– Speaking opportunities and/or moderator placements for agency leadership at relevant conferences
– Informed recommendations on events to attend and/or sponsor to interact with prospects or referral sources
– Own news and media relations programs about the firm
– Oversight and execution of awards program to highlight agency, leadership and client work – with a focus on national and industry recognition
– Tracking and reporting monthly on marketing metrics
– Other duties as necessary
Business Development: Facilitate consistent outbound prospecting, successful engagement of inbound requests/RFPs and continued organic growth
– Organize and maintain centralized prospect database
– Drive outbound engagement by researching and creating prospect lists and tracking/maximizing networking activity
– Supporting firm leadership/account leads on RFP/I submissions and other pitches
– Keeping sales materials up to date and creating new sales materials as needed
– Maintain new business trackers and report out on metrics
– Other duties as necessary
This is a hybrid role based in our Boston office and will be required to be on site at least two days a week.
Candidates should have:
– 5 years’ experience in supporting marketing, and/or business development in a professional services setting, such as an PR, marketing or advertising agency, management consulting, accounting or law firm
– Expert organizational, prioritization, and collaboration skills
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM databases, website management via WordPress, social media platforms, Google Analytics, and RFP proposal writing
– Experience managing demand programs and campaigns end-to-end, including ideation, hands-on execution (e.g., media buys, email sends, etc.) and reporting
– Excellent interpersonal skills and professional presence
– Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofing skills
